Kölner Haie tickets 2026-27: hockey in the huge LANXESS arena
Kölner Haie play 26 home games in 2026-27 in the LANXESS arena, the largest hockey venue in the DEL at 18,600. After finishing top of the 2025-26 regular season, the Haie bring a big crowd and a big-city show to the banks of the Rhine.
Kölner Haie: a traditional name in German hockey
Founded in 1972, the Kölner Haie are a club with a very large following and two DEL titles. Last season they topped the regular-season table, which makes this year's team a serious contender and a good reason to plan a visit.
The "Sharks" are part of the identity of Cologne, a city known for its cathedral, its carnival and its brewery culture. A hockey game here is as much a social event as a sporting one, and visitors regularly combine it with a day in the old town.
LANXESS arena: the largest hockey stage at the Kölner Haie
The LANXESS arena holds 18,600 for hockey, the largest capacity of any DEL venue. It stands on the right bank of the Rhine in Deutz, a short walk from Köln Messe/Deutz station, so you can reach it by train or Stadtbahn from the centre without a car.
Because it is so big, the experience is closer to a concert hall than a small rink. Allow extra time for security and for finding your block, and think about whether you prefer the lively lower rows or the broader view from the upper tier.
Atmosphere with the Kölner Haie crowd
The Haie fans are numerous and loud. Songs echo through the huge bowl, the standing blocks keep an energy that carries through the game and the Rhineland sense of humour is never far away, from scarves to chants.
Even in a venue of this size, the sound at key moments is impressive. Expect a mixed crowd of families, long-time supporters and tourists, and a very friendly mood towards visitors.
Kölner Haie rivalries: Mannheim and Krefeld
Adler Mannheim, a fellow traditional club, visit Köln on 27 October 2026 and 20 December 2026. The Rhine derby against Krefeld Pinguine is played in Cologne on 8 December 2026 and 21 February 2027.
For a visitor, the Krefeld games give a regional edge, while the Mannheim fixtures bring two of the best-supported fan groups in Germany together.
Buying Kölner Haie tickets, near or far
Begin with the club's official box office. Season ticket holders have priority, and single-game sales follow. The arena is large, so many dates remain available longer than elsewhere, but rivalry games and weekend fixtures still sell fast.
From abroad, check delivery and keep the ticket on your phone. If a game is sold out, use only reputable resale marketplaces. Our email alert will let you know when it is time to act.
Kölner Haie match-day tips
Sit in the lower tier if you want the noise and the speed of the game, and in the upper tier if you prefer the full picture. Food and drink points are plentiful, but queues are long at the intervals, so go early. If you are travelling with children, the earlier weekend slots are easier to manage and the transport home is less crowded.
Group bookings and corporate hospitality exist as well, but they are best arranged directly through the club.
