The 3-on-3 format of the NHL All-Star 2027

The recent All-Star events have favoured fast, open hockey, and the 2027 edition continues with a 3-on-3 tournament. Instead of the traditional East versus West, the field is made up of national teams plus a World team, in the spirit of recent best-on-best competitions.

NHL All-Star 2027 teams: Canada, Finland, Sweden, USA and World

Canada, Finland, Sweden and the USA represent four major hockey nations, while the World team gathers players from all other countries. That national angle gives European fans an easy reason to follow the weekend.

Why 3-on-3 suits an All-Star weekend

With more open ice, there are more chances, more skill moves and more goals. Few players take physical risks, and the games are designed to entertain rather than to grind. Expect a relaxed, festive mood in the arena.

UBS Arena: the venue for the NHL All-Star 2027

UBS Arena is a modern arena in Elmont, next to Belmont Park, on the edge of New York City. It is the home of the Islanders and holds a strong reputation for atmosphere, with steep seating that keeps fans close to the ice.

NHL All-Star 2027 seating: choosing your view

For an event with several sessions, the lower bowl gives a close view of the skill players. Seats behind the goals are good for shooting and goaltending competitions. Upper levels still feel near the ice because of the design. Official seating plans for the weekend have not been announced yet.

Getting to UBS Arena from New York City

The arena is outside Manhattan, so plan your transit in advance. Public rail serves the area, and many fans also use ride services. Details of any special event transport have not been announced yet.

How NHL All-Star 2027 tickets are usually sold

All-Star tickets are usually sold in phases, often with priority for the host club's supporters before a wider sale through the official box office. Packages that cover multiple sessions are common for All-Star weekends. The sale dates for 2027 have not been announced yet.

NHL All-Star 2027 tickets: single sessions or full weekend

Single-session tickets give access to one part of the programme, while weekend packages combine skills and tournament sessions. Check exactly what each ticket includes before you buy.

NHL All-Star tickets on resale marketplaces

If the primary sale is sold out, resale marketplaces become the alternative. Compare final totals, verify the session on the listing and save your confirmation.

Planning your NHL All-Star 2027 trip from Europe

New York is one of the easiest North American cities to reach from Europe, with frequent direct flights from many capitals. The trip is a good fit for a long weekend, especially since the break means no regular games on 4-7 February 2027.

NHL All-Star 2027 travel tips

  • Check your passport and entry requirements early.
  • Book flexible hotels until you have tickets.
  • Consider staying in Manhattan for sightseeing, or near Long Island for convenience.
  • Dress for a cold February in New York.

New York is six hours behind Central Europe, so evening events there are late at night at home. Plan sleep around the schedule, once it has been announced.

NHL All-Star 2027 weekend: skills, fan events and the break

All-Star weekend is more than a single game. It traditionally combines a skills competition, a tournament and a fan festival, and the break gives players a rare few days off from the grind of an 84-game season. The programme for 2027 has not been announced yet, so treat any detailed schedule you see elsewhere with caution until it is confirmed.
